IMartz verdict

Pros

  • Incredible motion clarity with G-SYNC Pulsar and ULMB 2, probably the most impressive I have tested on an LCD.
  • Extremely fast IPS panel even without strobing, with very low GtG times for LCD.
  • Very good sRGB mode, good color gamut coverage and fairly solid factory calibration for such a gaming-focused monitor.

Things to consider

  • High price for a 1440p LCD, competing directly with very good OLEDs.
  • HDR and contrast are far behind what OLED or Mini LED offers.
  • G-SYNC Pulsar still has compromises: possible flickering, artifacts in dark transitions and slightly more input lag.

A good fit if…

  • Competitive gamers who want the best possible motion clarity on an LCD.
  • Those who avoid OLED due to burn-in concerns but want something very advanced at 27 inches and 1440p.
  • Gamers with NVIDIA GPUs who can run many titles at high frame rates and use G-SYNC Pulsar.

Consider another option if…

  • You want the best overall image quality for the price, where an OLED is usually more balanced.
  • You want strong HDR, deep blacks or high contrast.
  • You will not play at high FPS or do not particularly care about motion sharpness.

Test note · EOTF tracking

HDR Standard tracks the midtone reference quite well, with a slight lift. Black levels and shadows are brighter than intended, and highlights clip at around 520 nits. Correct tracking does not eliminate the contrast limitation of this panel without local dimming.
