Cookie Policy
What your browser stores, what happens when you open a video or a store, and how to manage this site’s data.
Cookies and local storage
A cookie stores information in your browser and may send it to the server when you return to a website. Local storage also keeps data on your device, but works differently. Both can be used to remember preferences.
Your choice of light or dark theme is saved in this site’s local storage. It stays there until you change it or clear the site’s data. It is not used to rank recommendations or identify you on other websites.
Website features
Preferences and sign-in
You can read monitor pages and use the tools without creating an account. If you sign in as an editor, WordPress uses cookies to maintain your session and verify access. Deleting them may sign you out.
Analytics and advertising
The reviewed version does not load Google Analytics or advertising pixels. This does not mean that connections generate no technical logs on the server or the services providing website access and security.
Preferences you choose and essential site functions have a different purpose from advertising cookies. The AEPD cookie guide explains these differences and when consent is required.
Videos, stores and other services
YouTube videos
When you load or play an embedded video, your browser connects to YouTube. Its services may receive connection information and use their own technologies. Privacy-enhanced mode limits certain uses of the player, but does not mean that there is no connection to Google.
You can read monitor pages without playing the videos. You can find more information in Google’s privacy policy and in the YouTube embedded video help page.
Shopping and social media links
Following a link takes you to a store, social network or redirect service. These services apply their own cookie and privacy policies. Affiliate links may allow a purchase to be attributed to Monitor Garage; I explain how they work here.
