IMartz verdict

Pros

  • The cheapest 400 Hz IPS you can buy
  • Good motion clarity, especially with user overdrive set around 30.
  • High brightness for a 1080p IPS monitor, with good color gamut coverage and above-average IPS contrast.

Things to consider

  • Weak factory calibration, with cool whites, inaccurate grayscale and high DeltaE.
  • Uniformity could be better, with some visible backlight bleed depending on the unit.
  • Very basic HDR and quite limited console compatibility.

A good fit if…

  • Shooter, esports and competitive gamers who want a high refresh rate for little money.
  • Users who prioritize motion clarity, low latency and 400 Hz over resolution or HDR.
  • Those who mainly play on PC and are willing to adjust overdrive or do a little calibration.

Consider another option if…

  • You want good factory calibration or color accuracy without adjusting anything.
  • You want the best competitive gaming monitor available, as GtG times could be lower.
  • You want it for PS5 or console, because compatibility is quite basic.

Test note · EOTF tracking

HDR mode lifts shadows and renders midtones somewhat brighter than intended. Highlights quickly reach the panel limit; no additional detail is preserved above that point.
