LG 27GX790B-B
4th-generation matte Tandem WOLED, 1440p 540 Hz with a 720 Hz Dual Mode at 720p.
PanelTandem WOLED
A matte surface that diffuses reflections. Light can spread over a larger area; the finish does not eliminate reflections completely.
Choose between two resolution and refresh-rate modes: one prioritises detail and the other a higher refresh rate. See the specifications for the available combinations.
IMartz verdict
Pros
- The cheapest 540 Hz Tandem WOLED on the market.
- Top-tier response, color and brightness.
- Hardware calibration.
Things to consider
- sRGB factory calibration could be better, DCI-P3 mode is locked to gamma 2.6, and peak HDR brightness is somewhat low for Tandem WOLED.
- My unit had more pronounced banding / DSE than other Tandem WOLEDs I have tested, but this may vary between units.
- Somewhat sparse on extras and burn-in prevention settings.
A good fit if…
- Those who want one of the fastest OLED monitors on the market at a lower price than competitors.
- You want a matte finish on this screen, unlike the glossy ASUS alternative.
- The overall Tandem WOLED experience.
Consider another option if…
- You cannot tolerate banding / DSE or other WOLED drawbacks
- If you will only use it for PS5, it is overkill.
- You do not care about 540 Hz and want the same or better image quality, as 280 Hz models are available for less in both glossy and matte finishes.

Gamer 1 with brightness Low lifts shadows and midtones somewhat. High increases the peak but also clearly raises midtones, moving further from the reference. Gamer 2 better controls that lift in dark areas. In scenes with a large lit area, available brightness falls and highlights are compressed.
