IMartz verdict

Pros

  • Fairly balanced monitor for the price.
  • Good color gamut coverage and factory calibration after setting it to Warm.
  • Very versatile tactical stand with anti-reflection shields.

Things to consider

  • Very poor color uniformity, although brightness uniformity is acceptable.
  • My unit has some clouding and pronounced glow.
  • The overclock is unstable on my unit: 275 Hz requires reducing color depth and produces artifacts. 270 Hz is stable at 8 bits, but G-Sync does not work well, so to get the best out of it, the overclock must be disabled and the monitor used at 240 Hz. I do not know whether this applies to every unit or I was simply unlucky.

A good fit if…

  • Inexpensive monitor with a good refresh rate, color and price.
  • Those seeking a customizable stand with marked positions.
  • SDR color and all-round gaming.

Consider another option if…

  • The KTC H27E6 is available at the same price or only a little more.
  • You expect 275 Hz to work without question; assume you may need to use 240 Hz.
  • You cannot tolerate glow or lower contrast than competing models.

Test note · EOTF tracking

In HDR it brightens shadows and renders midtones somewhat brighter than the reference. Brightness stabilizes around 430 nits, leaving little headroom for intense highlights.
