Use the mode or procedure specified by the manufacturer or the model&apos;s review. Do not enter an extreme value just to make the pattern disappear. More brightness or saturation does not prove that information the game never produced has been recovered.<\/p>\r\n        <details><summary>Auto HDR and RTX HDR<\/summary><p><a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/en-us\/windows\/hardware\/display-graphics\/use-auto-hdr-for-better-gaming-in-windows\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Auto HDR<\/a> expands the presentation of supported SDR games in Windows 11. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nvidia.com\/en-us\/geforce\/news\/nvidia-app-download-and-features\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">RTX HDR<\/a> is NVIDIA&apos;s conversion available for compatible systems and games through NVIDIA App. Check current requirements before choosing; these are not two settings to stack together.<\/p><\/details>\r\n      <\/section>\r\n      <section id=\"hdr-problemas\">\r\n        <h2>If the image does not look right<\/h2>\r\n        <p>Start by determining whether it happens throughout Windows, in just one application, or only in one game.<\/p>\r\n        <div class=\"mg-hdr-diagnostics\">\r\n          <details><summary>The desktop looks dull, but HDR content looks good<\/summary><p>Adjust SDR content brightness in Windows and restart the application if it does not respond. Also check whether you are comparing SDR against an earlier oversaturated mode. Do not raise a game&apos;s HDR peak to brighten the desktop.<\/p><\/details>\r\n          <details><summary>Blacks look gray throughout the image<\/summary><p>Check that the GPU&apos;s output range matches the range the monitor expects. A full-versus-limited mismatch can alter blacks and whites. Check the monitor mode, local dimming if available, and light falling on the panel. If only one app is affected, check its HDR handling.<\/p><\/details>\r\n          <details><summary>Detail is lost in clouds, fire, or reflections<\/summary><p>Highlights may be clipping. Repeat the game&apos;s calibration using its pattern, check the limit used, and compare the monitor&apos;s tone mapping mode. Just because a control allows 4,000 nits does not mean you should select that value.<\/p><\/details>\r\n          <details><summary>There are halos or the whole screen&apos;s brightness changes<\/summary><p>Halos may come from zone dimming; brightness changes can also result from power limits or scene handling. Compare modes and content before blaming Windows. Calibration does not add zones or eliminate the panel&apos;s physical behavior.<\/p><\/details>\r\n          <details><summary>Only one game looks washed out or oversaturated<\/summary><p>Disable conversions and filters to test native HDR first, or SDR if it has no HDR. Check its calibration and restart the game after changing HDR in Windows. If it persists, look for instructions for that specific version; a generic profile does not fix every implementation.<\/p><\/details>\r\n          <details><summary>The screen goes black, loses signal, or will not let you enable HDR<\/summary><p>Check the cable, port, and combination of resolution, Hz, and color depth. Try a direct connection without an adapter and a less demanding mode. This helps distinguish a transport problem from a brightness or color issue.<\/p><\/details>\r\n        <\/div>\r\n      <\/section>\r\n      <section id=\"hdr-icc\">\r\n        <h2>Advanced profiles and tools<\/h2>\r\n        <p>A profile describes or adjusts part of color reproduction; it does not transform the panel&apos;s physical capabilities. Nor do all applications use it the same way. Visual HDR calibration does not replace color-accuracy measurements.<\/p>\r\n        <details><summary>ICC profiles and instrument calibration<\/summary><p>Keep the original profile so you can restore it, and use profiles appropriate to your display and mode. For demanding color work, define the target, measure, calibrate, and validate with suitable software and instruments. Some modifications fix or expand HDR, but check the game&apos;s entry: it is not a universal switch for every title. Having HDR output does not mean every application delivers HDR content.<\/p>\r\n        <details><summary>Games, Gamescope, and SteamOS<\/summary><p>In environments such as SteamOS, Gamescope participates in game presentation. Desktop and gaming modes may follow different paths.
